UPDATE! So I’ve realized lately that my posts are often so long that people don’t have enough time or coffee to read them 🙃. So I’ve decided to occasionally have a Short or Sweet (SoS) post that can bless those looking for a quick little “blessed assurance”. It will include the 4 S’s. 1. Simple thought, 2. Scripture, 3. Song 4. Say a prayer. Remember these are just my thoughts, reflections in my quiet time, my own journaling, and what the Spirit leads me to share. Don’t substitute my, or anyones posts, as your own quiet time. Maybe these SOS posts will help you in your own quiet time, that’s my hope. Let the Lord speak to you & through you, as I pray the same for me. Get in the word, write, worship, and walk this out with Him. So here is my first (SoS)! Please SHARE & FOLLOW my blog (nicolehoff.net) & my Facebook (nicolehoffwrites) if this blesses you!

The Holy Spirit doesn’t stay confined to the floorboards or walls of a place. How many times have I wanted to rip a piece of that carpet off the altar floor at church where the Spirit of the Lord moved? But it’s important to know that the Holy Spirit doesn’t remain at the sanctuary. Or the retreat. Or the women’s conference. He is everywhere. He is in your home, at your work, and with your family in far away places. He is even at that new place, in that new space, that you’ve been dreaming about. He’s at that place the Lord is preparing for you. If you’re called to move, to leave, to go, to say goodbye, to start something new… I believe what He would say to you is “You’re going to be okay, I will follow you. Don’t fear that unknown that holds you back, I am your helper. Remember, I dwell in you? You have no reason to fear.” Invite Him. Welcome Him. Abide in Him. He makes His home in you.
“But if God himself has taken up residence in your life, you can hardly be thinking more of yourself than of him. Anyone, of course, who has not welcomed this invisible but clearly present God, the Spirit of Christ, won’t know what we’re talking about. But for you who welcome him, in whom he dwells—even though you still experience all the limitations of sin—you yourself experience life on God’s terms. It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!”

Say a Prayer:
Holy Spirit, we welcome you here. In this place right here, and wherever we are going… whether it’s a new church, a new home, a new job, a new school, a new city, or in the same ole spaces where our hearts, minds and bodies dwell, we need You. Dwell in us. Too often we forget that we can call on You, that we can invite You here, that we don’t have to keep longing, we just need to invite You. Let us become more aware of Your presence. Let us experience the glory of Your goodness. Thank You for being our helper, our answer, our comfort, our hope, and our guide. Amen.
